RETREAT!!!

The grade 7 retreat was SOO AWESOME! We did short talk shows and we also made an ad on our personalized rocks. Ms. Lyn sang some song I don't know, but she was really funny. At the end of the first day, we had devotions. The guys went with Coach JC and T. Chris, and the girls went with T. Gail and Ms. Joy. The devotions for us, the girls, was the most emotional part of the day for me. The teachers were praying for us to have a deeper relationship with God. All the girls were crying except for Katzie, of course. While the teachers were praying for us, I felt God's presence in the room and God was talking to us all.
The second day was the last day. We had to wake up early and do everything we had to do. We had breakfast and we watched a video. It was about a girl named Ashley who became a Christian for 3 months. After those 3 months of being a Christian, she had a car accident and the doctors couldn't stop her from bleeding too much, the she died. And we had this "thank you" parts before we all left. Ms. Lyn was crying when we were saying thank you to her and when Ms. Sheryl was recognizing everything she did to put the Grade 7 Retreat together. Then we all left.

THANK YOU MS LYN!!!

Sick...

So sick!! I had fever yesterday, my temperature was 38.5. And now i have serious colds and cough!! Because I'm sick, I didn't go to my tournament a while ago, and if this isn't gone by Wednesday, I won't be able to come to our family outing on that day. Were going to Bohol on Wednesday. Were supposed to go snorkeling, wave watching, and also swimming. I know that if my cough and colds don't go away, I won't be able to go to Bohol.

Please pray for me that I'll get better and that I'll be able to go to Bohol.

Hostage Taking

Last Monday, a hostage taking occurred at Quirino Grand Stand. A dismissed policeman, Rolando Mendoza, was the hostage taker. He took over a tourist bus filled with Chinese tourists. He said that he wanted to hitch a ride then when he got in, then thats when it all started. The hostage taking took more than 12 hours. And there were 9 people that were killed including the hostage taker.

Now, the citizens of China have declared a "travel ban". Right now they are mourning because of that tragic event. There are hundreds of Chinese mourning since Tuesday. The Chinese are accusing us that there was discrimination when the hostage taking was going on.

I think that the S.W.A.T. team could have done better. They should have made sure that they had all the thing they needed. They forgot their gas mask when they brought the tear gas with them. And they also forgot to bring a ladder. They might have failed in getting the hostages out quickly, but at least Ronaldo Mendoza is now dead and we can all make sure that this will not happen again.

All we can do know is trust the government and pray that this tragedy won't effect our country's tourism than it is now.

12-year Education?

Does any of you want to have 12 years of school?
Or do you still want to have only 10 years of school?

I don't. Having 10 years of education are enough. 12 years are too much! There are already about 40% of children who have dropped out of school and some never went to school. What's the use of adding 2 more years? More kids would drop out of school and more kids won't even go to school. Adding 2 more years will just give us more problems in terms of money. I'm a student, I barely know anything about financial problems or something. But I know that having 12 years of school will give us problems.

12 years of school might help us get jobs easily after graduating, but there can be a lot of disadvantages. Like, financial problems. A lot of money will just disappear when the 12-year education will be implemented. And for sure, the amount of children will double or triple. And that would be a bigger problem. Because, more children will not experience going to school and will not be educated. So please, think very carefully before you decide about implementing the 12-year education.

My Three Dogs

1st dog
My first dog is Lucky. We got him when we were at Israel. When I was 3 years old. He's a Cockapoo. Meaning, he's half Cocker Spaniel and half Poodle. He's very loving, caring and very old. He's already 11 years old.
2nd dog
My second dog is Dexter. I'm his MASTER! And I got him when I was 6 years old. He's a Dachsund. And now he's turning 6 sometime this August. He's affectionate, very protective and cute.
3rd dog
My third dog is Rica. When we bought her, she already had a name so we just stuck with it. I'm also her master. I got her last year. She's also a Dachsund. Now she's already a year old. She's "makulit", super affectionate and she can jump really high.

But even though they are all different, they are all my favorite dogs.

1 More Day

Time flies so fast... After April 30 I am officially no longer working for Intel. I have been busy cleaning up my personal drawers and there i found my 1st pay letter discussion when I was hired among many other things. So many memories tucked into these drawers... it was bitter sweet.... Finally the clean-up is over.

The plan is go on a  vacation 1st and then start working on the execution part of the plans for my next career. It is time to put my faith into action!

I decided to open a facebook account after learning that many intel employees are members... now i have this account on top of my multiply and friendster account but I think it is manageable. We love multi-tasking in Intel. In less than 48 hours I now have more than 100+ friends. That was fast!

Farewell to Intel and to my intel friends hope to see you online!

Tthe things i will miss at work

as i woke up from my nap on the way back to manila while riding in the shuttle... it is startig to dawn on me that it is just a few more weeks leading to the last day of work.  i mused and thought of writing about the things i will miss... i will try not to be specific but for those who worked with me in this company knows what i am talking about.

1. the people (the good and the bad)

2. the day to day challenges that never seem to end

3. the fully booked and oftentimes overbooked calendars

4. the perks

5. the freebies

6. the late night phonecon meetings

7. the very competetitive environment

8. the meal tickets and cafeteria food (it depends on what day u ask me but today i think i will miss it)

9. the prestige

... i think there is more. i need to think think some more.
